I have installed ubuntu on about 3 machines over the last week or so and my only real comments are:
1. WOW. What a great OS
2. Installing wireless is easy if you – install, connect to a hardwire and update, turn on your wireless at all times and then reboot a couple of times.
3. I installed ubuntu to an external usb hdd. I had to remove the internal drive to make this work. Once the installation was done I could replace the internal drive and all was well. If I left the internal dive in, I could install, but then grub would get confused as to the drive order when the internal was in and out. Now it isnt a problem!

Of course I named my machine Hubuntu. I have it also installed locally on my wifes laptop – runs great. My daughter is using openSuse – it supported Sis video out of the box.
