So Kristin has been spending a lot of time online these days (look for my next post on this) and I like to have something just for her to do that isnt computer related. KK is taking up Mom and Dads time a bit, so getting out of the house isnt as easy either.

I found redbox.com the other day. Well actually I found a large red box at my walgreens and stepped up to see what it was. It was a large red ATM looking Kiosk that rents movies. I checked it out and it looks like there are some pretty good titles and it is a great interface. I rented 3 movies on the spot with my CC and email. They came right out of the machine and I went home that night and “watched” them.

After paying $1 per night for the movies like a chump I went online to the google site and checked out some promo codes. It looks like the rules on the promos are that you can only use them once per CC/email, but it isnt tied to a house or a person. So I have been able to rent a majority of the movies using the current promos.

You can even rent online and then pick it up at a location! I mean this is awesome. I pick a movie at http://redbox.com and then it tells me where I can pick it up and I drive there with my CC and it pops out. Cant use a promo this way though – its $1 a night.

I hope they do well because it beats netflix for someone like me and my family. We arent film buffs and just want to watch whatever is new on DVD. You couldnt do this too much since the selection is somewhat limited with redbox, but it is worth it as a last minute what to do tonight…
