29Nov So what else is new.
I just got back from Reno, NV with the family. It was a nice trip in the RV, but NV is long and boring to drive through and lots of police….
I witnessed my first airpatrol – where they have an airplane and cops on the ground. I wasn’t in danger since from the air the RV looks like a really slow moving marshmallow.
The kids were sick again as was the wife. Really sick… I mean sick sick sick. We made it through though.
During this whole time BIG was talking to me about coming back. No offers were made, but the idea was to come back as Director of Operations and revamp the processes and procedures related to the different business lines. I talked with the wife and had some pretty high requirements for taking on the job, but nothing above what the job would warrant. I had mixed feelings about going back. I was honestly relieved when I heard they had offered the job to another candidate. He is friends with several of the key employees and it would have been tough to have come in after beating him out for the position. I wasn’t surprised to hear the difference was financial (the official reason I wasn’t offered), but the job was going to be tailored to the person they hired and they did that I am sure. I think they made the right decision for BIG and me. It was nice to not have to make the choice – it was far from made in my mind.
Work at Sage is going very well. We are offering HOL and I am able to continue to stretch my wings and innovate if not only within my little area in training, it is still rewarding and the pay is right
Hands on Labs are cool in that they basically allow you to RDP into the machine to attend class. You don’t need anything special from the student side other than webex compatibility. So it opens up a whole new offering from Sage training.
Where do I go from here? Well I think the next few months are going to be calm and quiet. Get some finances in order and relax a bit. I have plenty that I can do at the lodge and plenty around the house with the family to attend to to keep us busy through the holidays as well as into the next year’s birthdays..
Oh yeah I am driving a golf cart at Chandler Fashion Square Mall dec 1 from 1 PM to 6PM (6:01PM). We take you from your car out in the lot to the door and then pick you up for a small donation. The money goes to the lodge to support its activities including Bikes for books, the oratorical contest, essay contest, veterans appreciation, food bank etc, do if you are planning to come out to Chandler Fashion Square Mall, make it dec 1 and give me a call on my cell. (email me if you don’t have it)..
