I have the virtual dedicated server from godaddy and I posted an incomplete set of instructions on what I did… I will be updating them sometime..

What I had a problem with SMTP today and couldnt figure it out. I almost bought a book to help. Well it turns out that I wasnt crazy.. I finally called godaddy support which is open 24X7 and I got a great support guy to email me instructions like nothing. Piece of cake.

So what did Andrew Reynolds email me?

Turns out I needed to add k2smtpout.secureserver.net in the advanced section of the properties of the smtp server within IIS as a smarthost. It was that easy.. Well that easy and ensuring that each domain I try and send FROM: is on the machine and included as an alias.

Simple right? Well now you know.
