I have attended several mormon churhes and noticed the similarities between them and the Masons. This is easily explained by Joseph Smith and Brigham Young being Master Masons.

It is an interesting comparison and details it better than I ever could.

Turns out a friend who is a mormon tells me mormons can be Masons. It also turns out that Masons banned Mormons for some time due to the whole polygamy thing… Now that polygamy is banned we can be friends

Also interesting that Joseph Smith’s brothers name was Hyram (Abiff?)
