The Benson KOA is a lot like any other KOA. It isn’t paved, but rather gravel and has some trees, which is great for the desert. Free Internet access and a pool etc.

The really cool thing about it is that just to the south is an open field of desert so we can easily walk our dog over there. This way we can let her do her business without needing to pick up after her. I mean it isn’t a big deal, but in the city it just isn’t the same walking your dog. She gets so much more tired out in the open running without a lease.

The Reid park zoo or Tucson zoo was fantastic. As Phoenix Zoo members we got in for free. It was a smaller zoo, but one with plenty of shade and really close access to the animals. I think I like it better than the Phoenix Zoo. The Phoenix Zoo doesn’t get you anywhere near the animals. Sure the animals have more room to roam in most cases – not all – but you cant see most of the animals most of the time.
