05Mar Electric Lawn Mower
So I bought an electric lawn mower… My gasoline powered lawn mower was borrowed to someone who couldnt care less about anyone else’s stuff and he must have stepped on the top or left it out in the sun or something.
I had owned this lawn mower for about 5 years. I would always keep it either in the garage or outdoor shed. I would hose it off each time and regularly coat it with WD-40 to prevent rust. I sharpened the blade once a year using my dremel and rarely ever caused it to hit something hard.
But it leaked gasoline for the past year. It would drip a little here and there before, but this year it would almost spray out the side. I checked into getting it fixed and it just wasnt feasible.
So I bought an electric version. $229 at Homedepot. I was at Homedepot anyway to buy a tree that was given to my family in rememberance of Kennedy. I signed up for the card to get 10% off and wanted to take advantage of it. So I bought the lawn mower. Electric and rear bagging. Its handle folds nicely and it actually sounds like a gaoline lawn mower when it runs, but obviously much quieter. It does have the mower sound to it like an engine, just muffled. It is probably the vaccum affect into the bag that makes the noise.
I am happy to be a little more green. Now if I can get my F150 to get more than 16.7 MPG on my 32 mile (one way) commute, and buy a 4 stroke engine for my boat (its a 2 stroke now) I will be as green as most other people
I have thought of buying a chip for my f150 to down the power on commutes and up the power when pulling the boat. Any ideas on this? Email me.
