So I am a very conscientious person when it comes to littering. I hate littering. I will always pick up litter when given the chance. My wife will tell you that I wont throw a tooth pick out the window of my vehicle.

So in the mail I get this:

A threatening letter from, well you read it. Obviously someone called and told them I let litter out of my vehicle. So I drive a truck and most people have junk in the bed, perhaps something flew out of there? No. If you had looked in the back of my truck for the past 3 years you would find any number of bungee cords, usually attached at both ends. That is it.

So where did the litter come from? What it the wrong license plate? Did someone put something in the back of my truck and I not notice it?

Sure. Perhaps all of these have happened. But the tone of the letter states that although fines are very high for this offense, we are sure this wont happen again. Yeah well you cannot fine me for litter unless a police officer sees me do it. Unless the person wants to press charges personally there is nothing they can do.

Now what this letter did do was let someone like me that is rather particular (anal retentive?) about these things in on the phone number. I assure you I will be calling on the millions of smokers that regularly throw a cigarette or 10 butts out on any given day.

My favorite don’t smoke commercial just came out with Donald Trump. Now I realize it takes a lot to be like Trump and he isn’t even one of my idols, but you can certainly appreciate his style of telling you to stop.
