Yesterday I was asked to oversee the network and database portions of our company. My first task was to figure out what each of the people in those areas does on a daily basis. And my second task was cleaning up.

I have been a “network guy” in the past. I worked for Oconnor Cavanaugh with Brad Hobson he was the Senior Network Admin. Our space could be a huge mess. Usually this mess is caused by old machines or broken hardware. As a company we need to decide what to do with this stuff.

I cleaned drawers and overhead storage with stuff still in there from guys that havent worked here in years.

Second I was asked by DeVry University to write the curriculum guide for CIS 460 – Advanced Web Application Development. I current teach CIS 410 as well as several other courses, so I think I can handle the task. I hope to have a draft ready by the new year.

The curriculum guide is the guide for other instructors to follow while teaching the course. It includes the objectives of the course, the labs, the ilabs, the syllabus etc.

My first objective it to see how http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/Creating_Charts.asp will fit into the mix.
