I have been asked many times about cheap web hosting. I host using hostonce.com, and they are pretty good. They dont backup anything however and this got me last year when I lost my entire site. It was actually a blessing – the site stunk and opened family photos up to the world. It was also written in ASP 3.0.

So anyway I decided to take a look for some cheap ASP.NET web hosting. Some basic requirements are:

1. .NET 1.1 support (and a plan to move to 2.0)
2. minimum 5 Gig transfer
3. Email support w/5 accounts
4. Web space of > 500 Meg
5. MS Access or SQL Server allowed

Here is what I found (per month)
1. Brinkster.com Brinkster professional package $7.95
2. Hostonce.com Hostonce .NET Windows Hosting 6.95 (billed annually)
3. Godaddy.com GoDaddy.com deluxe plan $9.95

I use hostonce. It is ok, but honestly I think I will switch to godaddy.com. I will certainly do so if I can verify that they are hosting physically from Scottsdale, AZ.
