It was released last month and I have finally picked one up. The Samsung DuoCam SC-D6550here.

So far I think I like it. I cannot stream from the DV tape to my computer using USB so I am also going to pick up the sony dvd recorder. This way I can consolidate all of the tapes I have of Kristin and Kennedy into one format. I dont think the loss rate on the dvd process will be too high to deal with and I can then rip the dvds and make some more interesting videos.

If you have used the camera and have some suggestions. Let me know.

I have the camera side set to highest resolution and normal quality. I was using fine quality but the photos were twice as large and a comparison shows that they were actually a little less clear. I would expect a 5.25 MP camera to produce a picture that is just over 1 Meg. With fine they were 2.5 M and in Tiff they are like 5 M. I just done need that high of clarity I guess. Perhaps for some scenic photos possibly.
