Today I went to download the Steve Ballmer video from Channel 9. I right clicked on save video and chose a name and my desktop from the links on the left. When the download completed I was prompted to “Open”, “Open Folder” or “Close”. I wanted to open the folder. I don’t know why really – I just did.

Well I couldn’t. I was told the item is on your desktop. OK well open my desktop as a folder. I can browse to my desktop in windows explorer. Why can’t I open it? Why not just open the folder? Why not just show it to me?

As a developer and Project Manager, I realize how these things come to be. I also realize that blogging this as a problem isn’t necessarily the best approach. I place it in the forums but wanted to get my frustration and amazement out here.
