I have updated the HuberBlog Software to include an ATOM FEED (look to the left). This was much more difficult of a definition to work with than RSS, but I guess that is also its strength.
I have been told by a coworker that he has been working on a google.com atom reader which allows you to check more than one account using a systray icon, so I suppose I will need to create one as well. Look for that in the near future at http://www.jasncab.com/programming
I added the atom feed to the left there and I needed a new icon. Previously I had the xml icon:
. Well since atom and rss are both xml, this wouldn’t do. I found http://www.feedforall.com/public/rss-graphic-tool.htm which did the job well. In fact I used it for both icons.
It is important to note that these are not going to be of any real use in the near future as auto discovery is really coming along and should overtake the need for these things. With auto discovery (which you can check out using http://start.com/1 and click on SHOW) you just put in the link to my site and it looks for a tag I have embedded to auto discover my feeds. Right now I only have the auto discovery for RSS included.
After I am “done” with the code I will refresh the listing at the programming side of my site. Until then I wouldn’t download it.
